When we celebrated our 10th Anniversary in November 2019, we could never have imagined we wouldn't even be launching the second decade of the Awards until 2022.

At the time the Awards should have launched on 3 May 2020,  the UK was in lockdown and with the great uncertainty that still surrounds the Covid-19 pandemic over a year later, combined with the ongoing challenges faced by business owners, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the Awards until 2022.

The incredibly challenging times for business owners not only at present but for the foreseeable future, will undoubtedly mean the focus will be on protecting their core business, their families and their employees. We are a resilient and innovative sector that have always played a crucial role in our economy and our communities and this crisis has highlighted that more than ever.

We will continue to support our sector and have focused our time and energy in creating an online Family Business Community - Family Business Futures. FBF aims to deliver a trusted space in which to connect people to other businesses in the community that understand the unique challenges of leading a family business, providing support and advice. It’s a safe space with active social hubs to connect people with each other, where they can share experiences, and build friendships and support networks.

The Awards were created in 2009 at a time when everyone was looking for ways to beat the recession, a valuable way to raise the profile of family businesses in the region;  the challenges the future will bring means our support will be needed more than ever. Until the Awards return in Summer 2022, we look forward to catching up with you on FBF - for your free membership visit www.familybusinessfutures.co.uk

We very much look forward to welcoming you back to the Awards, in the meantime stay safe.
