Our 2023 Finalists have been announced!

The Finalists for 2023 have been revealed!

44 fantastic family businesses are through to the final stages of the 2023 Awards! We had some fantastic entries to mark the start of our second decade, but some things never change - selecting just six finalists in each category from so many deserving entries.

The sectors and regional spread represented by our 2023 Finalists illustrates the strength of family businesses right across the Midlands, from agriculture to cyber and construction to demolition! The oldest business in the Awards was founded in 1860 and now in it's 6th generation, the youngest started during lockdown in 2021 - and  already making a difference.

Charlotte Perkins, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all family businesses that submitted entries this year. We really didn't know what to expect after taking a break since our 10th Anniversary in 2019, and have been so overwhelmed by the posistive response from both family businesses and our wonderful sponsors.

The Awards are the UK’s only independent initiative dedicated to celebrating and recognising the success, achievements and innovations of family run and owned businesses. They remain a not-for-profit initiative and we couldn’t do this without the fantastic support of our sponsors, many of them are family businesses that have entered the Awards in the past and see this as a great way of giving back to the sector, whilst our professional services sponsors are trusted advisers experienced in working with family businesses and this is yet another way to support the sector - PwC are sponsoring for their tenth year and it's great to have such longstanding support.

Huge congratulations to all our finalists, I wish them best of luck when they meet the judges in the final round and look forward to seeing them all at the Summer Celebration when we announce the Winners and Highly Commended.”

Finalists will now meet the Awards’ individual category independent judging panels, led by a leading individual of each family business, an industry expert, a sponsor representative and a representative from the Midlands Family Business Awards team. All finalists are entered into the People’s Choice Award, voted by the public and sponsored by Streets Chartered Accountants since it's introduction.

Main sponsors for the 2023 Awards are detailed on our Sponsors page and you can also find out more about our 2023 Charity Move.
