The Absolute Works story began in 2011, when Joy May founded the company with a commitment to taking a fresh approach to HR support for SMEs. Joy envisaged HR that would be built around excellent customer service and helping SMEs to maximise their profits.

In late 2013 Amy Martin, a former Employment Law Solicitor, joined Joy as Absolute Works, bringing with her a wealth of legal knowledge and management experience. She spent nine years practicing in a variety of legal fields, most recently Employment Law. Amy is CIPD qualified and an associate member of the CIPD and her arrival marked a period of rapid expansion for Absolute Works.
