How to enter the Family Business Awards
Entries for the 2023 Midlands Family Business Awards opened on 23rd January. There are 10 award categories to choose from and each family business can enter up to two categories for which it is eligible.
Simply register your details, choose your category and start completing the online form.
The Awards entries will be completed online. You’ll also be able to upload documents, pictures and films to support your entry. You can save the entry form and revisit it as many times as you wish, just remember to submit your entries by the deadline of 3rd March 2023!
The shortlisting of entries begins on 13th March and six finalists will be chosen in each category, based on the combined scores of our Judges. Finalists will be announced on 30th March.
The six finalists in each of our judged categories will be automatically entered into the People's Choice Award. The People’s Choice category will be decided purely by public vote.

How are the awards judged?
Six finalists will be chosen for each award category and will be announced on 30th March; each category has its own judging day during May, where the finalists will go forward to an informal interview with our panel of independent judges drawn from leading family businesses, supported by the sponsors, the Awards team and industry experts. The family business representative leads the panel and has the casting vote.
The judges will want to find out more about your family business and how you’ve made it a success. The interviews will help our judges to select the Winner and two Highly Commended in each category.
The People’s Choice Award
Each of the finalists shortlisted in our 10 judged categories will be automatically entered in the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Streets Chartered Accountants, where the Winner and Highly Commended are decided purely by online public vote.
We will provide all our finalists with the templates you need to encourage your customers, clients, suppliers and business contacts to vote for you.
The Awards Ceremony & Dinner
The Midlands Family Business Awards culminate in a glittering black tie Awards Ceremony & Dinner, attended by over 300 guests including our finalists, sponsors and judges.
This year it’s taking place at Kelham Hall near Newark in Nottinghamshire on Thursday 29 June. Tickets include a drinks reception, three course menu and table wine.
