The Wilson Organisation is a third generation family business, providing insurance and financial advice to businesses across the Midlands and UK. The business celebrates its centenary in 2014, and to mark this achievement, Wilsons created a special Family Business Longevity Award, which was won in 2013 by Weavers Wines of Nottingham
Wilsons is run by Charlotte Perkins (MD) and Annabel Prow (CEO), who are the driving forces behind the Midlands Family Business Awards. Charlotte and Annabel are supported at Wilsons by their father John Prow (chairman) and mother Olga.
Charlotte and Annabel explain:
'We are very proud to be steering the Family Business Awards into their fourth year and look forward to meeting some of the region's very many successful family businesses and their inspirational leaders.
'We created the awards in 2009 when we recognised, as family business leaders ourselves, that there was no clear, safe space for family businesses to share and celebrate their successes. We are proud that the awards are the UK's only independent and not-for-profit initiative for family businesses and are committed to making them bigger and better each year, with the support of our fantastic sponsors - led by Smith Cooper.
'Aside from the Awards we are busy at the moment helping our clients to get to grips with pensions auto-enrolment, which is currently being phased in. On the commercial insurance side, our advisers are working hard to deliver cost savings or additional benefits (sometimes both!) to our valued clients. If you think we can help you, please drop Charlotte an email or call her on 0115 942 7506.
'Wilsons remains strongly committed to the family business sector and to helping its leaders succeed in what can often be quite lonely roles. We look forward to meeting you through both the awards and our regular events for family businesses.'
