The first Family Business Forum of 2012 will be held at 5.30pm at the East Midlands Radisson Blu Hotel on the 23rd February. Hosted by the Awards' organisers and third generation family business, The Wilson Organisation, the forum will look the topic of succession and how family businesses effectively appraise family members.

The line-up of speakers includes directors from the winners of the 2011 Best Small Family Business category, McAuliffe Civil Engineering.
 
Founded in 1971, McAuliffe is one of the Midlands leading environmental contractors, providing a packaged offering across demolition, land remediation, reclamation and earthworks, and haulage services.
 
The company’s Finance Director Anna-Maria McAuliffe, and Managing Director John McAuliffe, will share their story of how they have managed the performance of its family members during the succession of the business to its current generation.
 
Managing Director of Wilsons, Charlotte Perkins, says: “Anna-Maria and John will also share their approach to managing the performance of family members and the impact this has had on both working and family relationships as well as the integration of non family members to the management team, considerations of paramount importance to anyone involved in their family’s business.”
 
Ken McCracken, Managing Director of Family Business Solutions, will provide useful tips on effectively managing the performance of family members in the business, based on his long track record of working with enterprising family businesses on succession planning and governance.
 
The Midlands Family Business Forum is on Thursday 23rd February 2012 at the Radisson Blu Hotel near East Midlands Airport from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.
