The Wilsons Family Business Forums have been running since February 2008, providing a 'safe haven' for family businesses to share stories, debate best practice and network with other likeminded business people.

The Forums were created by Charlotte and Annabel Prow, joint Managing Directors at The Wilson Organisation. As siblings running a third generation family business, Charlotte and Annabel recognised a need for a friendly, informal event that enabled family business leaders to discuss their unique challenges and opportunities.

Since February 2008 the Forums have benefited from some inspirational speakers, including Nick Linney of The Linney Group, Parween Warsi of S&A Foods, Parveen Mehta of MWW Ltd, Justin Cheatle of John Cheatle Ltd and John Maclean of John Smedley Ltd.

Our most recent Forums were in October 2011 and focused on the theme of innovation. We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Trevor Fletcher of The Hardstaff Group, who told us his story of serial innovation and entrepreneurship. Trevor's story was underpinned by PwC, who gave us a sneak preview of the results of their Enterprising Nation survey.

Date of next Family Business Forum:

  • 23 February 2012

The Family Business Forums are free to family businesses and include dinner. To register an interest in attending please contact Wilsons' Ped Briggs or on 0115 942 0111.
